Mike, also known as Mr. Mal, has had a lifelong passion for music, starting piano lessons at age five and later excelling in percussion and guitar. After studying music and liberal arts at Slippery Rock University and Chandler-Gilbert Community College, he co-founded the alternative rock-reggae band The Morning After in Tempe, Arizona, performing statewide and opening for reggae acts like Iration and Tribal Seeds. When the band disbanded in 2011, Mike launched his solo career as Mr. Mal in 2012, building an extensive repertoire of over 200 cover songs to perform on Carnival Cruise’s Ecstasy.

Now based in Arizona, Mr. Mal performs at bars, restaurants, weddings, and events, both solo and with collaborators like Laura Hamlin (Two People Singing) or The Mr. Mal Band. His diverse setlist, nearing 1,000 songs, spans genres from The Beatles to Lizzo, Frank Sinatra to Taylor Swift, and 2Pac to Hank Williams.
